Even with Peter Jackson’s nine-hour-plus film adaptation, there is plenty of content from the novel’s that never made the cut. Martin’s world in his epic A Song of Ice and Fire series, the universe that Tolkien created is truly profound. With the release of popular video games, like this year’s Middle-earth: Shadow of War, along with the announcement of an upcoming LOTR TV series being produced by Amazon, it looks like this Tolkien fantasy isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, which is good news for those us who like to venture back into Middle-earth at least a few times every year. Despite being released well over a decade ago, The Lord of the Rings films remains just as prevalent in our culture now as it was during the trilogy’s heyday.
